Our Mission
At Artful, we do more than crunch numbers—we rescue you from spreadsheet-induced despair. Tax returns? Boring. Bookkeeping? Necessary, but also boring. Lucky for you, we love this stuff. We take the stress off your plate so you can focus on what actually excites you (and no, we won’t judge if that’s doom-scrolling or buying more craft supplies “for a project”).
Our team? A delightful mix of neurodiverse, disabled, and LGBTQ+ individuals who believe finance shouldn’t be one-size-fits-all. We know that running a business can feel like juggling flaming torches while riding a unicycle, so we tailor our services to keep things balanced—minus the fire hazard. Whether you’re a creative genius, a side-hustler, or someone who'd rather wrestle a crocodile than do their bookkeeping, we’re here to tame the numbers so you don’t have to—no wrestling required.
Rebecca, a fully qualified accountant, knew spreadsheets deserved more personality—and that accounting didn’t have to be a headache. With over five years of experience and a love for efficiency (and a well-reconciled bank feed), she built a team that gets just as excited about untangling transactions as you do about your business. Whether it’s streamlining processes, solving financial puzzles, or using a bit of techy wizardry to make your life easier, we take the stress out of accounting so you can focus on what you do best.

Our Core Values

Meet The Team
Rebecca Barker MAAT - Founder
Rebecca is the mind behind Artful Accountancy – we simply wouldn’t exist without her. She founded Artful back in January 2024 in her home office as a team of one and she is responsible for where we are today – a tightknit team of three in our Cambridgeshire office. Rebecca brings over five years of experience to the table, from a number of sectors, and leads our team in a very hands-on and involved way.
Rebecca is our fount of knowledge, both internally and within our communities – she prides herself in being able to offer advice and assistance where she can, and can often be found sharing useful tit-bits in online groups.
Community is incredibly important to Rebecca as, being neurodiverse, disabled, and LGBTQ+, she understands the need for unique perspectives to be heard. Her priority is to ensure our clients receive the support and expertise they need to thrive as business owners. She strives to lend an ear where she can and to offer a welcome, understanding environment for both clients and our team.
Outside of work, Rebecca can be found behind a camera, capturing moments to inspire her latest ideas and designs. She enjoys dabbling in many different forms - most recently sewing, and digital art - and always looking for a way to bring her creativity into every aspect of her life.

Kate Friday - Accounts Manager
Kate, Rebecca's sister, is the most recent addition to our Artful family - she turned our two's company into a party! Kate joined full-time in January 2025, following working for us on a part-time basis for 6 months. She brings with her an open and approachable communication style, and a love of solving a good puzzle. She will gladly don her deerstalker in order to go full detective and figure out any tangle of bookkeeping placed in front of her.
She thrives on learning new software and trying different ways of working. Right now she is particularly enjoying the challenge of streamlining process to benefit both our clients and our team at Artful Accountancy.
As someone who identifies as both neurodiverse and part of the LGBTQ+ community, Kate wants to ensure everyone feels heard and it is her mission to ensure Artful Accountancy is an inclusive company. We all face challenges as individuals and as small business owners and she is here to provide a supportive and positive environment.
When not in our lovely town hall office, Kate has a wide range of hobbies and interests - from curling up with her and Jacques' two cats and a good cosy book (Currently reading A Coup of Tea), to browsing charity shops for thrifted home goods and clothes, and a whole host of things in between. You might find her creating something from a sewing machine and the reams of fabric she's been "collecting"...

Jacques Reynolds - Accounts Manager
Last but not least is Jacques!
Jacques is Kate’s housemate, best friend, co-cat wrangler and the final piece of our Artful puzzle. Jacques was the first person to come on board and started working with Rebecca in April 2024. Her passions lie in bookkeeping challenges – Jacques wouldn’t think twice about diving into a sea of transactions and investigating the nitty-gritty details to get accounts reconciled.
Her attention to detail can best be described as thorough and meticulous whether she is dropping a client a quick email or wading through a pile of receipts that have landed in our post-box. She is on hand to ensure accounts are always in order.
Jacques is neurodiverse, disabled and LGBTQ+ and is coming out of her shell with us at Artful Accountancy. She has first-hand experience of the challenges of being neurodiverse in a workplace that is not well-suited, and is determined to ensure our clients are able to always communicate effectively and openly with us at Artful.
One of Jacques’ special interests is the pursuit of knowledge – namely in the form of board game rulebooks and Stardew Valley player guides – as she enjoys the theory behind her interests just as much as the undertaking. Jacques can also be found curating her ideas and projects into Pinterest boards, and drinking copious amounts of tea.
